Grrrrrrrr

About two years ago, I had to buy a new dishwasher.  I bought a Sears model with an extra-tall bottom rack to hold those big pots and baking pans.  It has a Heavy-Duty Wash cycle, which one would assume means you don't have to scrub the pots first.

Apparently, that's the wrong assumption.

In less than a year, it stopped working.  The repairman came out and pointed out that there was a lot of food clogging the system, I had to rinse the plates better before I put them in.  So, I started doing that.  Well, tonight it gave me the same blinking lights as last time.  Since the only food that's been going into it has been the stuff that doesn't rinse off, this leads me to the conclusion that it may have a Heavy-Duty wash cycle, but that doesn't mean I can use it for pot-scrubbing.  Bad shoulder and bad wrists be damned, I'm going to have to first scrub every last bit of food off the pots so that there's nothing to clog the system.

WHY?  Because whoever designed it didn't think to put a screen to catch the loose food, like my old dishwasher had.  They saved a dollar on screening, and that means that I have to pay for an $80 service call if I want to use my dishwasher to wash the dishes, not just sanitize them after I've washed them.

To say that I am not a happy camper facing Christmas with a sinkful of dirty dishes and a non-functioning dishwasher is an understatement.

I bought from Sears because I always thought they were the best quality for a reasonable price.  Now I'm rethinking that.
